The need in our community is growing — and the numbers don’t lie.
According to Cobb Moms Helping Cobb’s Community Impact Report for 2025 and January 2026, applications for assistance jumped 73% in 2025, rising from 737 to 1,278 total applications. And the momentum isn’t slowing down. January 2026 alone saw a 182% increase compared to January 2025 — 203 applications in a single month versus just 72 the year before.
The assistance provided spans a wide range of critical needs. Housing led the way, with support reaching 60 families and 199 individuals totaling nearly $58,000. Utilities, transportation, groceries, supplies, and school-related needs rounded out the categories, bringing the total assistance provided in 2025 to $80,531 across 1,278 applications.
The fastest growing needs — housing, utilities, and transportation — point to a community under real financial pressure, with families increasingly turning to CMHC for emergency support during the October–December 2025 and January 2026 surge.
