Food & Basic Essentials

Helping families meet essential day-to-day needs.

We help Cobb County families access food and basic household items during times of need, giving them the support to stabilize and move forward.

Full grocery orders tailored to your family's size, dietary needs, and cooking preferences.

Toiletries

Hygiene products for family — shampoo, toothbrushes, deodorant, & more.

Diapers & Wipes

Children's diapers and wipes matched to your child's size and needs.

How Our Grocery Assistance Works

All grocery orders are placed by our admin team — no funds are given directly to families.

What We'll Ask You

To make sure we get the right items for your family, we'll need to know:

  • Whether you receive SNAP benefits and the amount
  • Ages of all family members
  • Whether you prefer "quick and easy" meals or "full meal" cooking
  • Any food allergies or dietary restrictions
  • If you can pick up (Walmart) or need delivery
  • If you're in a hotel — whether you have access to a kitchen
  • Specific food preferences for your family

Pickup & Delivery Options

We work with you to get supplies in the most convenient way:

Walmart Pickup

We place the order and you pick it up at your nearest Walmart location

Delivery

If you don't have transportation, we can arrange delivery through our volunteer network

Supply Drop-Offs

Cleaning supplies, toiletries, and diapers are often delivered directly by volunteers.

Note: We do our best to accommodate requests but cannot guarantee every specific item.

Am I Eligible?

Grocery and supplies assistance is available to Cobb County families who meet the following initial criteria. This helps us get started but does not guarantee assistance:

  • You have at least one child (birth to 18 years old) living with you and have legal guardianship.
  • You live within the boundaries of Cobb County, GA.
  • Your family has not been assisted financially by CMHC within the past 12 months.

Documents You'll Need

Have these ready to speed up processing:

  • Proof of Cobb County residency
  • Recent pay stubs or proof of income for all adults
  • Proof of SNAP, CAPS, or other benefits
